What is Pharmacovigilance ?

Pharmacovigilance is the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other medicine/vaccine related problem.

What is Medical coding ?

Medical coding is the process of taking a patient’s health care information like medical procedures, diagnosis procedures, medical services, and equipment into universal medical alphanumeric codes.

Job role in PV –

1. To record and to report Adverse events.
2. Access and gather all information related to the Adverse effect happening from the Pharmaceutical product.
3. In-depth interview with the patient.
4. To minimize side effect / Adverse events to make drug very safe and effective for the patient use.

Job role in Medical coding –

1. To transcribe all the medical record information into Universally accepted Medical code.
2. To Ensure that the codes are assigned properly.
3. To Ensure that all the diagnosis , symptoms and related documentation properly filled up.
4. To review and validate documentation for diagnosis, Procedure, treatment and result.
